"You'll have to face him sooner or later." Whispered Arinyu, enforcing her 'captain's orders' excuse as she hauled Rangiku to Kawamura Taichou's grand marquee. She focused in the scrapping noise of her sandals as Arinyu dragged her unwilling self to the feast Kawamura threw in Toshiro's honour. For the first time in her life, she wasn't looking forward to the endless supply of sake.
She spotted him in all his magnificence as he stood grimly with his arms crossed. His intense eyes fixed on Kawamura's face as they conversed. Next to him stood few of Kawamura's officers. Amongst them she spied Okura Shiyomi. Rangiku hissed in annoyance and allowed Arinyu to leave her lost within the crowd.
Kawamura's loud voice caught everyone's attention when she found the makeshift bar. She perked up her ears, while appearing unconcerned about his announcements. She dug into the large barrel of ice and fished out a bottle as Kawamura started thanking Toshir

An hour had passed, and then another, before the doctor came before Grimmjow still dressed in the scrubs that, with no doubt in his mind, were covered in his son's blood. The doctor held a solemn expression as he separated Grimmjow from Ichigo to deliver the news that Grimmjow expected, but wasn't quite ready to hear.
He placed a hand on Grimmjow's shoulder and almost whispered the apology for not being able to revive his son. Grimmjow searched the doctors' eyes for a better answer, for a sign that told him that this was sick joke and that his son was alright. The doctor removed his hand from Grimmjow's shoulder and gave more inaudible condolences as he walked off.
